Essiac: Alternative Cancer Treatment Since 1920s

Why Essiac has been used as an alternative treatment for cancer for over 80 years? Perhaps it is because the frequency of cancer cases has increased significantly in recent decades, and experts predict that the rate will increase. In 2003 the World Cancer Report, a United Nations agency has predicted that cancer rates could increase 50% to 15 million new cases in 2020. It is commonly believed that the most stressful lifestyles and increasing environmental pollution are two of the factors contributing to this growth. One of the alternative treatments for cancer, which has been used longer Essiac, an herbal tea that was developed in 1920, though it could have been in use for hundreds of years. This is because it is considered that the Essiac formula was revealed by an old Indian medicine man. The name Essiac person who was a nurse in Canada, Rene Caisse. The name Essiac is Caisse spelled backwards. According to Ms. Caisse, which has been said about the formula of a woman who claimed that breast cancer cured. Moreover, the Fund said that the formula was given an old Northern Ontario Ojibwa healer. Whatever the source of the formula could have been, with four plants to produce herbal tea. Caisse said the aunt of tea is used to treat cancer. Following this success, the aunt's physician, Dr. RO Fisher of Toronto, Caisse sought to address some of his other patients with the herbal formula, and Caisse related, the other doctors "were beaten with the results." Caisse were encouraged to open a clinic to treat cancer Bracebridge, Ontario, where he led thousands of patients with the formula gives the name of Essiac. Although the clinic was closed in 1942, Essiac is still available as a dietary supplement and herbal. It was reported that Dr. Charles Brusch, who was President John F. Kennedy 's doctor successfully used Essiac cancer. The popular alternative treatment for cancer researchers, Ralph W. Moss, Ph.D. wrote an article about Essiac tea in 1992 in detail the scientific research projects has been done to determine if indeed this was a useful treatment for cancer. Although the evidence is not conclusive, Dr. Moss said that Essiac was "worth investigating, because independent testing of individual herbs comprising the mixture has shown significant anti-cancer properties. He also referred a "persistent anecdotal reports" that Essiac was a useful treatment for cancer.
